A seasonal selection made by the Technical Observers Panel, the Ghana Premier League (GPL) Team of the Season has been selected on the notion of Angel Sports and here is a breakdown in a 4-3-3 formation.

In the goalkeeping role is Bechum United shot-stopper Abdulai Iddrisu. Placed third in the just-concluded season, the 25-year-old kept the most clean sheets of 18 in 34 league games along with 0.71 least conceding rate per game more than any other goalie in the league.

Covering the literal lines were Asante Kotoko left-back Imoro Ibrahim and Karela United Agustine Randolf on the opposite side. Both players were electrifying in the lines -good at delivering accurate crosses, intercepting in the lines and creating scoring opportunities with cut-in passes. NB: Imoro emerged as the top assisted player in the league with 9 assists.

Likewise in defence, Medeama and Bechum United- Vicent Atinga and Osei Kuffour were the outstanding duos. The stars were the best combo to ever thought of in the league. Their confidence level, ability to withstand pressure, intimidate opposing strikers and avert dangers were classy.

Outstanding central midfielders – Karela Umar Bashiru was paired with Asante Kotoko duo Richard Boadu and Mudasiru Salifu. Very creative midfielders with great positioning techniques. The trio performances were an exception to none -available in all areas of the pitch at the right time, game-changers with good connection in and off the pitch with teammates. NB: Bashiru scored 13 goals more than any other teammate.

Emerged as the top three scorers in the league -Yaw Annor with 22 goals, Franck Etouga Mbella with 21 goals and Augustine Okrah with 14 goals -were selected upfront.
