Newly crowned champions of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) Asante Kotoko statistically is believed to have had the best season as league champions than any previous winners in nine years.
This was concluded today after they held Accra Lions to a 1-1 draw as visitors today at the Accra Sports Stadium which happens to be their last fixture of the season – thanks to Samuel Boateng who levelled after Abass Samari Salifu in the 87th minute.
The Porcupine Warriors accumulated points this season [2021/2022] was 67, 19-wins, 10-draws and 5 losses in 34 league games – the best-recorded statistics sighted in 9 years in the Premier League.

2020/2021 – Hearts of Oak with recorded points of 61, 17-wins, 10-draws and 7 losses.
2019/2020 – Aduana Stars with 28 points, 8-wins, 4 draws, 3 losses.
2018 – Medeama, 27 points, 8 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses.
2017 – Aduana Stars, 57 points, 16 wins, 9 draws, 5 losses.
2016 – WA All-Stars 51 points, 15 wins, 6 draws, 9 losses.
2015 – Ashgold, 52 points, 15 wins, 7 draws, 8 losses.
2013/2014 – Asante Kotoko 55 points, 4 draws 9 losses.
2012/2013 – Asante Kotoko 56 points, 14 wins, 14 draws, 2 losses.
Note: 2019/2020 season was hit by Covid-19 bringing the league to a halt on match-day 15 and 2018 was cancelled due the to Tiger Pi documentary.
