Round 12 of the English Premier League wrapped its second-midweek fixtures of the season on October 20th, 2022 – and the quest for the Team of the Week based on individual and team performances.
Manchester United and Crystal Palace following their separate victories at home – saw a combined six players featured [three each], with the rest selected from – Nottingham Forest, Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham and Liverpool.
An unusual display from Bruno Fernandes at Trafford this season against Tottenham Hotspur, commented Fred’s lead with the crucial second – he emerged as the star player of the week – shares such honour with on-loan teammate Dean Henderson.
With creativity, balance plays and a good attack threat, no other player comes to mind than the 28-year-old Portuguese midfielder – who scored and registered the most key passes, 9, alongside the highest rating (9.4) according to sofascore.
Henderson, on the other hand, was very influential in Nottingham Forest’s goalless draw with Brighton – held unto his guard in the goalpost – made the most saves (7) along with 3 clearances and a rating of 9.2 – the only player after Bruno Fernandes with a rating over 9.0 this week.
Other outstanding players who made the team as well include – Mohammed Salisu, Lisandro Martinez, Eberechi Eze, Fred, Darwin Nunez and Wilfred Zaha.
