As a reward for obtaining the set target of the club since 2014, Ghana Premier League giant Asante Kotoko players are set to receive a whopping five thousand dollars ($5000) each – an equivalent to (Ghc39,125) in New Ghana Cedis for winning their 25th League title this season as promised by a board member – revealed by the Chief Executive Officer – Nana Yaw Amponsah.
The set target of the board [GPL title] since last known in 2014 become realistic on Thursday when the club drew against AshantiGold in the Adansi derby from away at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium – all thanks to Maxwell who equalized after Yaw Annor’s in the 67th minute.
Swaying high at the uppermost of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) table with 60 points – 10 points in a gap, “the Porcupine Warriors” are declared 2021/2022 Champions although nine points [three games] are still out of grasp – claiming the bragging rights as the most titled club in GPL history.
Nana Yaw Amponsah {CEO} words to the media on Asante Kotoko as the latest champions “There are so many packages for them”, he continued ” Even a single board member has promised them five thousand dollars each ($5000). He is a Man of Honour and a man of his word, Mr. Kwasi Fori which I know he will fulfill”.
“But we (as the club) have a special bonus structure for the players and we are going to sit with the board to plan a special package for them”.
Per revelation, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club will be given the league title on Sunday when they meet Accra Great Olympics.
