Accra Hearts of Oak moved to the summit of the table after beating Eleven Wonders by a goal in the matchday 26 fixture at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.
The Phobians took the lead in the 25th minute after a defensive blunder committed by Wonders, allowing Kwadwo Obeng Jnr to capitalize on to open the scoring for the Phobians, his seventh goal of the season.
Coach Sam Boadu’s side showed high intensity from the blast of the whistle to the end of the match after he made four alterations to the Hearts squad that beat Elmina Sharks FC 2-0 last weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Suspended Larry Sumaila made way for the return of Captain Abdul Fatawu Mohammed at the right back role.
Caleb Amankwah and Isaac Mensah also came back into the starting lineup replacing Victor Aidoo and Patrick Razak respectively to face Wonders.
Wonders trainer Ignatius Osei-Fosu also made five changes to the team that was beaten 2-0 by Karela United FC last Sunday in Anyinase.
Abdulai Ibrahim replaced Michael Abu in the goalposts whereas Suala Ibrahim and Jonah Aryeetey earned their first Wonders starts.
They replaced Prince Baffoe and Samuel Boakye in the starting lineup respectively with Frank Amankwah also taking the place of Abdul Ganiu Abass.
Eleven Wonders will have 27points with 26 matches played, Hearts of Oak on the other hand will leapfrog rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko with 46points, who play later tomorrow against WAFA.
