Head Coach for Accra Hearts of Oak, Samuel Boadu, says the team’s remarkable run of 10 games unbeaten in all competitions is down to lessons learnt from their defeat against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams during match week 19 of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
Boadu’s men succumbed to a 2-0 defeat in Dawu in that fixture but have since recorded 10 consecutive wins in the league with the most recent coming against their arch-rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday 27th June 2020 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The former Medeama gaffer believes the criticisms he received from fans served as motivation for the team’s excellent performances in recent times. “I think that it is one of those happenings in football. So performing well, the spectators will appreciate the performance, if things turn out sour and performances aren’t coming they will criticise you.”
“I have learnt my lessons in that defeat against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams, since that defeat I have to back up and learn extra.”
Samuel Boadu’s Hearts of Oak currently on the longest unbeaten streak in the Ghana Premier League (10 games) and the 20-time Premier League champions will be hoping that good form will continue as they look to secure their 21st GPL trophy since 2009 with three games left to play in the league.
The Phobians next travel to Cape Coast to take on Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the matchday 32 fixture.
