Legon Cities are set to hijack Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions, Hearts of Oak ex-striker Kofi Kordzi after several reports had it that the Rainbow Club were on the brink of completing the signing of their former player as the team bids to strengthen its squad for the 2021/2022 football season.
In addition to clinching the Ghana Premier League title this season, the Phobians have also been crowned champions of the MTN FA Cup after beating Ashanti Gold SC on penalties at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.
Keen on winning more titles next season, Hearts of Oak are in talks to reach a deal to sign strong striker Kofi Kordzi, but several reports coming through is that the player’s alleged manager and lover, Ruth Naa Amanoa Asamoah, who has strong ties with the Royal Club, that’s Legon Cities could convince him of switching contract talks with the 2016 Premier League champions.

Sources have confirmed that the powerful centre-forward has been training with the Phobians in the last few weeks and had his medicals earlier today but Legon Cities could be in to land the 26-year-old attacker.
However, he was on the team’s bus yesterday when they arrived at the Accra Sports Stadium for the FA Cup final against the Miners.
Having left Hearts of Oak during the 2019/2020 season, Kofi Kordzi signed for Qatari side Al Muaidar after netting 6 goals in 16 appearances for the Phobians.
Legon Cities would be looking to add more firepower up-front for the new season which is set to commence on the weekend of Friday, 29th October to Monday, 1st November 2021.
