His brother [Inaki Williams] switch allegiance to Ghana a couple of weeks ago -his younger brother Nico Williams, on the other hand, seems to be perplexed following his brother’s footsteps as of now and on the latest reports sighted he has disclosed when he will be ready to represent Ghana or Spain.
On a post-sighted, the young sensational winger disclosed- he wants to take some time and develop his gameplay before deciding whom to represent – whether Ghana or Spain.
The 20-year-old to recall has represented the Spain U21 national team and has 5-caps, however, a nationality switch is still on the line since he has not yet made a debut for the senior national team.
With his brother’s recent switch [Inaki], eyes were on Nico to do the same but in a recent interview with 3sports, he disclosed this –“I have been watching the Black Stars. I always want to see them [play] and learn from them,” he began.
“I am so young at the moment and I’m focusing on myself, working hard. Whether it is Spain or Ghana [I don’t know yet]. I want to be the best and when the time comes, I will [make the decision],” he said.
Nico Williams signed a professional contract with his current club Athletico Bilbao in July 2021 and made 40 appearances in all competitions last season of which 14 were starters.
