The 2021 Ghana Rugby League Championships’ (GRLC) latest additions Nungua Tigers had their debut against 2019 runner-ups Ghana Skolars on Sunday 23rd May 2021 at the University of Ghana (UG) Rugby Field.
The Tigers showed their lack of experience as Skolars stamped their authority in the match with a huge 26-0 victory over the side from Nungua.
Ghana Skolars showed no mercy as they look to go further than their 2019 second-place finish making 4 trials, 2 in each half of the game and 2 conversion kicks.
Chris Da- Gama of Ghana Skolars was the darling boy of the day, making a hat trick of tries for his team. He observed that “it was a good game from our team and we are prepared to win the league this year.”
Meanwhile, the spectators, who turned out in their numbers to watch the games, we’re excited to see the Rugby League resume after the long break due to the pandemic.

The second edition of the Rugby League Federation Ghana‘s (RLFG) Rugby League Championships is set to run till 4th July 2021 at the University of Ghana (UG) Rugby Field with all matches set to be live on the federation’s official Facebook page.
