Per compiled statistics gathered after every UEFA Champions League game this season, this is the list of 21- awardees of the player of the match so far.
After every UEFA Champions League game, players are recognized and assessed by the UEFA Technical Observer Panel which decides who deserves to be the Player of the Match based on their performances. And in such regard here is the list of the first 21.
1. Karim Benzema – (4 honors)
Benzema has been a revelation to Real Madrid this season scoring important goals and leading them to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League. As the list is concerned, the Frenchman is ranked first per accumulated honors of four. Reckoning his honors – in the group stage, he had two, both from Shakhtar Donetsk. And in the round of 16-second leg against PSG and Chelsea in the first quarter-finals leg.
2. Kylian Mbappe, Robert Lewandowski, Sebastien Haller, and Dani Parejo – (3 honors – each)
Lewandowski – The Polish Bayern Munchen striker got two honors in the group stage against Benfica in Week 4, Barcelona in week 1, and Salzburg in the round of the 16-second leg.
Kylian Mbappe – Paris Saint-German sensational striker also had honors in the group stage against Leipzig in week 3, Club Brugge in week 6, and Real Madrid in the first leg of the round of 16.
Dani Parejo – Villarreal midfielder, against Juventus in the round of 16 first leg, Atalanta in week 1, and Young Boys in Week 4.
Sébastien Haller – the Ajax Ivory Coast forward had a splendid campaign this season with three honors – Sporting CP in week 1, and Besiktas (X2).
